Public comments on two South African electricity policy documents are due on Wednesday, 28 October 2026, under the Department of Electricity and Energy’s extended timetable.

The deadline covers the Electricity Sector Market Transformation Position Paper and the Revised Electricity Pricing Policy. These are consultations, not an announcement of new electricity tariffs.

The government document listing gives a noon cutoff. The gazetted extension states 28 October without specifying an hour; readers should not assume submissions remain open until midnight.

Written submissions go to the department’s Director-General, with different contacts for each document:

The notice requests the submitter’s name, address, telephone and fax numbers, and email address. It says comments received after the closing date will not be considered.

Both consultations opened in August. The extension was gazetted in September; this is an approaching-deadline reminder, not a newly announced extension.
