Calib Cassim will continue as Eskom’s acting group chief financial officer after his tenure as CFO and executive director ends on 31 October, the utility said on Friday.

In a notice to bondholders issued on 30 October, Eskom said the acting arrangement would continue until the appointment of his successor becomes effective. It described the arrangement as a way to ensure an orderly transition.

The notice did not name a successor or give a date for that appointment to take effect. Eskom said it would provide a further update on the appointment process.

Cassim’s planned retirement as group CFO in October 2026 had already been announced in a SENS notice on 1 October 2025, according to Friday’s statement. The latest announcement sets out the end of his tenure and the interim arrangement, rather than announcing his retirement for the first time.
