Water Research Commission seeks experts for three-year panel

Applications close on 30 November for a panel supporting water and sanitation projects. Joining the panel does not guarantee assignments.

The Water Research Commission is inviting applications for a three-year panel of experts to support water and sanitation research, development and innovation projects.

Applications close at 23:59 on Monday, 30 November 2026, according to the commission's notice published on 5 November.

The call covers more than engineering. The official expression of interest lists fields including environmental science, economics, public health, social sciences, water law, data science and artificial intelligence. Applicants may identify more than one area of expertise.

Applicants must complete the accompanying form and supply the required supporting documents. These include proof of registration on the National Treasury's Central Supplier Database, B-BBEE documentation, tax-compliance verification and company-registration documents. The full call also sets out requirements for methodology, experience, personnel and pricing.

This is a panel opportunity rather than a guarantee of work. The commission says assignments will be allocated as needed. Applicants must meet the mandatory requirements and reach the technical evaluation threshold to be considered.

The notice directs electronic applications to Alpheus Sebolaaneng at alpheuss@wrc.org.za. Technical questions go to WADER programme manager Dr Manjusha Sunil at manjushas@wrc.org.za, with the notice setting 20 November as the deadline for those queries.

Prospective applicants should read the complete expression of interest and use the application form linked on the commission's official opportunity page.
