Four killed in Bellville taxi-rank shooting, eNCA reports
eNCA reports four deaths and two people wounded in the long-distance section of the rank on Saturday night. Police are investigating.
Four people were killed and two others wounded in a shooting at Bellville taxi rank in Cape Town on Saturday night, eNCA reports.
The broadcaster's account, published at 06:20 on Sunday, 8 November, places the attack at about 21:00 on 7 November in the rank's long-distance section.
Citing police, eNCA says four gunmen travelling in two vehicles opened fire. The Provincial Taxi Violence Unit is investigating.
No arrests had been made at the time of that report. That is the status given in the morning update, rather than confirmation that the position will remain unchanged.
The eNCA report does not establish a motive. The involvement of a specialist unit does not, by itself, establish a taxi-war or gang connection. This report does not identify the victims or the attackers.
