Renowned South African Gospel star Dr Tumi (real name Tumisang Makweya) made headlines earlier this year after he was accused of defrauding the National Lotteries Commission of more than R1.5 million.
Dr Tumi walked out of the Palm Ridge Commercial Crime Court earlier mourning a free man after the Specialised Commercial Unit dropped all charges against him and his wife Kgaogelo Makweya.

Tumi who had always maintained he was not guilty took to social media to announce the good news saying: “The beauty of the truth is that it can’t be changed. Today we were exonerated of any [wrongdoing]”
The singer faced attacks on social media after being accused of corruption.

Dr Tumi commented through his attorneys saying: “Justice has been served, we have no case to answer to. We are thankful for the support and love from our family. friends, colleagues, and the public at this time.
He said they are turning back to life and pursuing their passions and look forward to putting the episode behind them.
