Parts of Brackenfell are scheduled to lose water from 09:00 to 18:00 on Thursday, 5 November, while testing may reduce pressure in low-lying Khayelitsha.

The City of Cape Town’s 30 October maintenance notice lists Brackenfell Heights, Springbok Park, Brackenfell Central and possibly immediate surrounds for replacement of a defective valve.

Khayelitsha testing

Tests in Khayelitsha’s low-lying areas are planned from 09:00 to 16:00. Some residents may have low pressure or no water; the City cannot predict every affected street.

Prepare before work starts

Residents should store water beforehand in clean, sealed containers and keep taps closed to avoid losses when supply returns.

These are scheduled work windows, not guaranteed restoration times. The City warns that complex work can take longer. Check its @CityofCTAlerts account for maintenance updates.
