Ntsiki Mazwai who has been making headlines lately for controversial statement attacking South African men, slams government for the R350 COVID-19 Social Relief of Distress grant which she says is too little.
“You can’t put plaster on a festering wound,” she said.
Mazwai adds that the R350 cannot pay rent and that no one can survive on that money for the whole month.
“Do you know how much children eat, can you pay rent with R350,” said Mazwai.
The artist even reached out to her American friends notifying them about “meagre” R350 grant.
“My dear American friends, My president has offered my people $18 dollars a month. I will be offline today as I process this information and think of a way forward,” she said.
President Cyril Ramaphosa on Tuesday 21 April, announced that a special COVID-19 Social Relief of Distress grant of R350 a month for the next 6 months will be paid to individuals who are currently unemployed and did not receive any other form of social grant or UIF payment.
