The Department of Health has confirmed 388 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the last 24 hours, with 7 more death cases. South Africa currently has 6,336 total confirmed cases and 123 death related to the pandemic.
“As of today, the totak number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in South Africa is 6,336. The total number of tests to date is 230 686, of which 13, 164 were done in the last 24 hours. This is the highest number of tests done in a 24 hour cycle to date,” Minister of Health Dr. Mkhize announced in a statement on Saturday evening.

COVID-19 Recoveries in South Africa
Mkhize says they are happy with the number of recoveries in South Africa. “We are however pleased to report that the number of recoveries now stands at 2549,” the Minister said.
The death cases reported today comes from the Western Cape and the Free State. Mkhize conveyed condolences to the family affected and thanked the health officials who treated the deceased.
