FNB says its app, online banking and card-payment services are back up and stable after disruptions on Monday morning, 26 October.

The bank issued a restoration notice at 11:42 SAST, apologising to customers for the inconvenience. Its statement covers the three services identified in an earlier advisory: the FNB App, online banking and card payments.

At 10:29 SAST, FNB had said it was experiencing issues across those services and that its technical teams were working to resolve them.

Restoration follows morning service advisory

FNB head of digital Giuseppe Virgillito also told MyBroadband that full functionality had returned and that IT teams were continuing to monitor the bank’s channels. The bank apologised for the disruption.

That is the bank’s account of its service status. EBNewsDaily has not independently tested app access, online banking or card transactions.

The two notices establish when FNB publicly acknowledged the disruption and when it announced restoration. They do not establish the precise time the problems began, so the interval between the posts should not be read as the total duration of the disruption.

The notices did not identify a cause or give a number of affected customers. They also did not provide a detailed technical explanation of the fault or the work undertaken to resolve it.
