The Johannesburg Stock Exchange says amendments to its listing requirements dealing with corporate governance and ancillary matters will become operational on 7 December 2026.

In an announcement released on Friday, 6 November, the exchange said the Financial Sector Conduct Authority had published approval through Board Notice 1006 of 2026.

The JSE said it was working with publisher LexisNexis to incorporate the amendments into its Listings Requirements.

The FSCA is South Africa’s regulator for the market conduct of financial institutions. Its stated mandate includes protecting financial customers, promoting their fair treatment and supporting the efficiency and integrity of the financial system. That is background to the regulator’s role, rather than a description of the specific amendments.

The operational date remains ahead. Friday’s announcement does not mean the amended requirements are already in effect.
