Eligible organisations with established food gardens in Tshwane can apply for donated peach trees until 15 December 2026, according to a City notice published on 3 November.
The official call includes schools, religious institutions, charities, non-governmental organisations, small-scale farmers and old-age homes with established food gardens.
Only applicants operating in Tshwane will be considered, and the donated trees must be planted within the City’s jurisdiction. The initiative began on 1 November and aims to support food security and community gardens.
Applicants can request a form by emailing [email protected]. Applications must include photographs of the proposed planting area so that the site can be assessed for suitability.
The City says each application will be assessed and applicants notified of the outcome within seven working days. That is its stated response period, not confirmation that any particular request has been approved.
Successful applicants can collect trees from Rebecca Street Nursery between 08:00 and 15:00, subject to stock availability. Applying does not guarantee a donation, and the notice does not establish how much stock remains today.
