Ekurhuleni residents seeking support for selected full-time undergraduate studies in 2027 have until 30 November 2026 to apply for the City’s Community Bursary Programme.
The official notice, published on 30 October, covers specified university, university-of-technology and TVET qualifications. Fields include engineering, information technology, finance and environmental health, alongside listed technical and artisan programmes.
Applicants must be South African citizens permanently residing in Ekurhuleni, aged 18 to 35, with Grade 12 and an acceptance letter or registration evidence for 2027. Annual household income must not exceed R600,000.
The City requires supporting documents covering identity, institutional acceptance or registration, residence and household income. Its notice specifies certified copies with certification no older than three months; applicants should check the full document requirements before applying.
Applications go through the bursary portal linked in the official notice. Applicants need a valid email address and should retain the reference number generated after submission.
Annual renewal depends on academic performance. Successful applicants must sign a contract, and the City may withdraw funding for poor performance or misconduct. Submitting an application does not confirm an award.
