SARS users could experience interruptions to online tax and customs services during a one-hour maintenance window on Thursday evening, 5 November.

The South African Revenue Service has scheduled the work from 18:00 to 19:00, according to a notice published on its website on Thursday.

The warning covers eFiling, Tax and Customs Digital Platforms. SARS says interruptions may be intermittent during the work; it has not announced a continuous shutdown of all services for the full hour.

SARS says regular upgrades, enhancements and maintenance are intended to keep its digital infrastructure available, reliable and secure.

People planning to use the affected platforms this evening should allow for possible interruptions during the scheduled window. The notice gives the date and hours but does not explicitly specify a timezone.
